Description:

TTA performed the complete final assembly of the cars, the initial contract of 17 cars (10 EMU cars with cabs at each end, and 10 trailer cars) in conjunction with the Maryland MARC contract (see below), and 10 cars in conjunction with the JPB contract (see above) at the San Francisco facility. The work consisted of receiving the partially completed shell, and installing all sub components, including traction and low voltage power supply system (on the first 10 cars in Baltimore), HVAC systems, braking equipment, lighting, flooring, interior panels and ceilings, interior components and seating door systems, lighting, couplers, wiring and piping and installation of pre-assembled trucks to the cars. Testing consisted of static testing in the facility prior to shipment to the end customer. TTA was also contracted to manufacture and supply many sub components on both of these contracts. The program also consisted in assisting Nippon Sharyo with liaison with the end customer and the U.S. based sub contractors.
